About the Owner

HEATHER FOWLER

Heather has years of experience working with Seniors as a recreational programmer, Elder companion, fitness instructor and leading outdoor programs for the Elders Council of BC.  Her 1400 volunteer hours over 12 years of providing dog therapy for St John Ambulance as well as being Unit Facilitator for the Lower Sunshine Coast, gave her the seed to start Dial-A-Dog Canine Companions. 

"I received so many calls for home visits when starting the Lower Sunshine Coast Chapter that I felt compelled to help ease our social, financial, transportation and isolation struggles with the love of our kind, intuitive canines and their personable Handlers."

About Our Handlers...

And Their Pooches - BOTH chosen for their outstanding temperaments.

Our Handlers bring their own adorable dogs and are a team.  Handlers are required to have First Aid, a Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Population and a clean drivers abstract, They take online tutorials learning about Elder Abuse, Trip Hazards, understanding Dementia and Mental Health Awareness, plus ongoing education, 

Our cuddly canines have obedience training, are well-groomed, fully vaccinated, and have passed stringent testing and evaluation by a fully accredited professional dog trainer and evaluator for St John Ambulance Dog Therapy Program.  

We act as respite for caregivers, provide wellness checks for loved ones and are fully licensed and insured.                         We do not provide home health care.
